3 of 7 chicks acting weird. Hard time walking, sometimes yell when trying to stand up.
Our take
Uh-oh, chicken lovers! It seems like we’ve got a cluck-tastrophe on our hands with three of our feathered friends acting a bit off. These chicks are having a tough time walking, often letting out a startled yell when they try to stand. Initially, I thought they were getting squished in the sleeping cuddle puddle, so I separated them from the rest. The black chick has been laying oddly, while the other two joined in on the strange behavior today. They do move, eat, and drink, but their movements are more like a stumble than a strut. I’ve added Nutridrench to their water and provided chick starter and an egg for extra supplements, but I’m concerned—are they ill or injured? Let’s figure this out together!

| Assumed they were getting crushed in the sleeping cuddle puddle. Separated from the rest. Back girl in pic laying odd, same with girl on right. Black girl mainly tells when trying to stand if she’s been laying for a while. Nutridrench in the water, chick starter, egg for extra supplements. Is this illness or are they hurt? Black girl started last night. Other two today. They will move, eat, drink, but movement is stumbled and slow. If they’re hurt, I can’t tell what part, if it’s a wing or a leg. [link] [comments] |

- Update: Chicken still sick, can’t walk or stand. She can perchMy poor Pickles went to the vet, laid an egg, (I thought she was egg bound), she’s been getting around the clock care in quarantine, but she still can’t walk, she can perch on a dowel, but that’s it. She is eating at least one scrambled egg a day, not really drinking but if I string water over her beak she drinks. Her poops looked normal this morning, yesterday they were mixed, some normal, some watery. It’s been 6 days of this. WTH?? This is her little set up. Any ideas? submitted by /u/LemonyFresh108 [link] [comments]
- Help! Something is wrong with one of my little ladies:(Hello, I’ll start by saying I’m a noob and have no idea what to do. Thanks in advance for any help. So a couple days ago we noticed one of my favorite little chickens was standing kinda funny. Over the past day or so her walk is definitely different and she seems like she’s having trouble getting around. She’s almost straight up when she walks and just doesn’t seem very coordinated or able to do her normal chicken stuff. Anybody know what this is? I want her to be ok so any advice helps. Thanks. submitted by /u/woooowthatwashard [link] [comments]
- Is this normal poop?Very lethargic/sick chick. Was fine yesterday. Only 3 days old. Can’t stay awake at all and not eating/drinking. Been syringing electrolyte water and egg yolk but hard to tell if there are any changes. In a brooder with 9 other chicks. Hot side is 100 and cold side is 80. They have access to clean water and chick starter. submitted by /u/Gravitys_Bitch [link] [comments]
