Our take

Bedtime? Seriously?! It’s Red we’re talking about—so why is she ready to hit the hay so early? While her feisty flockmates are still out and about, Red seems to prefer the cozy comfort of her coop, even if it means avoiding potential pecking from her sisters. After a year of regrowing her feathers, it's clear she has a unique personality; she may enjoy her own space but still keeps an eye on the flock. Is it the overcast weather making her feel chilly? Or could she be experiencing some vision changes, mistaking the time of day? With sunset still hours away, we’re left wondering if Red is simply embracing her quirky side or if there’s something more at play.

Seriously?! This is Red, why does she want to go to bed so early? The other of her breed same age (3yrs) is out & about with the other 4.

Now, I know the others would beat her up, sister would even pluck her neck. Took a bit over a yr all feathers are back & she will stomp the other birds occasionally. She also hung out with out old hen before she passed a couple yrs back. She will be with the flock but also prefers to be alone.

Is it weather? Earth axis tilted? Maybe she's going blind (@3ys old) & thinks it bed time? It's 4:30pm & doesn't get dark till at least 8pm.The others will head to bed about 6:30. We are over cast today but I swear shes going to bed earlier & earlier. Maybe she wants the heat light on her & she's cold 🤷🏻‍♀️
