Chicken of the day : Speedy the Barred Rock

Our take

Meet Speedy the Barred Rock, our feathered friend of the day! As part of a fun mission prompted by my son’s desire for a chicken pickup from school, I’m starting a log of our delightful flock. Speedy, a young hen hatched in mid-February, has a personality as vibrant as her stripes. She wasn't a fan of the chicken bag, opting instead for a cozy perch on my shoulder, where she felt right at home. This charming choice turned heads at the elementary school, where the kids were quick to admire her unique looks and quirky demeanor. Join us as we embark on this cluck-tastic journey, celebrating the whimsical moments that our chickens bring into our lives!

Since my son wants me to bring a chicken when I pick him up from school I'm going to start a log of them. Speedy is a young hen, hatched in mid February. She didn't like wearing the chicken bag, much happier on my shoulder. Needless to say the kids at his elementary school thought she was cool looking.
