Does my chocolate Orpingtons crop seem oversized to you?

Our take

Oh, the joys and jitters of being a new chicken parent! It sounds like you’re experiencing quite the rollercoaster with your chocolate Orpingtons. First off, it's completely normal to feel nervous, especially after the unexpected loss of your Easter Egger—sending virtual hugs your way! When it comes to a chicken’s crop, it should feel firm but not overly swollen. A gurgling sound can sometimes indicate that something isn’t quite right, but it doesn’t always mean the dreaded sour crop. Keep an eye on her eating and drinking habits, and watch for any changes in her energy levels. Remember, you’re not alone in this chicken-keeping adventure; many have been in your feathers and are here to help!

What does a normal crop feel like? I am a newbie and I’m making myself nervous. I’ve had these chicks 2 days now, I lost my Easter Egger last night completely out of the blue. The place I got them from replaced her today and said it was probably because of the way they’re shipped to them without heat.. but I’m not sure. I’m worried my other two are not doing well now. My Orpington is the most energetic, she’s eating and drinking and getting attached to me already but her crop feels like it has air in it, and she’s making a gurgling sound when she drinks water. Earlier she was sleeping on me and she was making a clicking sound. So now I’m terrified she has sour crop. Pls help!
