Hello, fellow chicken enthusiasts! I just stumbled upon this sub and couldn’t wait to share my latest cluck-tastic creation. A year ago, I inherited some lovely hens from my neighbors, complete with all their essentials. However, as these old girls are laying thin-shelled eggs and the occasional broken one, I realized my nesting setup needed a little TLC. To make cleaning a breeze, I repurposed large plastic plant pots and crafted a wooden frame to hold them securely. Now, when it’s time for a clean-up, I simply lift out the nest pot, give it a good wash, and pop it back in. It’s a game changer for keeping things tidy! What do you think of my nesting pots?

What are your thoughts on my new nesting pots I was given some hens about a year ago when the neighbours moves with all the feeders, nesting boxes etc. They are old birds so we are getting some with very thin shells and an occasional broken egg so I need to clean the nest. To make the cleaning job easier I got some large plastic plant pots,made a wooden frame to hold then. Now when I need to clean a nest I simple lift the nest pot out, clean it, wash it if needed and pop it back in. [link] [comments] |
