Egg-citing News: Eggy Azalea's Wooden Eggs Hatch Into Eight Chicks!
Easter came early and Eggy Azalea is finally a mom again!! 🐥 (Update)

It's a miracle, they said. And for once, the internet is not exaggerating. Eggy Azalea, the hen who apparently decided biology is optional, took five wooden eggs, sat on them with the patience of a saint, and hatched eight live chicks. Eight. From five wooden eggs. If that doesn't earn her a PhD in Chicken Calculus, and yes, that's a real subject now, then I don't know what does. The math doesn't add up, but honestly, who cares? She's a mom, she's happy, and her little nuggets of joy are running around chomping on her comb and wattles like it's a buffet. And she just lets them. That's love, folks. That's the kind of maternal devotion that makes you wonder if we should all be taking notes from a hen.

Now, before you rush to buy a set of wooden eggs for your own flock, let's get practical. Eggy didn't just hatch her own eggs, she adopted. Five of those chicks are four days old, two are two weeks old, and one is three weeks old. That means somebody (or several somebodies) brought these little ones to her, and she accepted every single one. No DNA test, no background check, no drama. Just warmth, food, and a whole lot of beak-to-beak feeding sessions. For anyone who's ever worried about integrating new chicks into a brood, Eggy just demonstrated the master class: be a patient, broody hen who's already determined to be a mom. The rest falls into place. If your hen isn't quite as committed as Eggy, don't expect the same results. But if she's got that look in her eye, the one that says "I will sit on a golf ball if you give me one", then you might just have a foster queen on your hands.

If a reader came to us asking what to make of this, we'd say this: Eggy Azalea is proof that the line between fowl play and genuine parenting is thinner than a chicken's patience. She's not just a hen; she's a reminder that our feathered friends are capable of kindness that defies logic. Yes, she's still a chicken. Yes, she still has that wild look in her eye when you get too close. But she's also a mom who spent all day monitoring her mixed-age crew, feeding them off her own beak, and tolerating the nibbling that would send most of us running for a bandage. So go ahead, laugh at the math. Laugh at the wooden eggs. But remember: Eggy pulled it off, and she didn't need an expert to tell her how.

It’s a miracle!!! Eggy’s 5 wooden eggs finally hatched last night and she’s now the proud mama of 8 healthy chicks! (I don’t do chicken math, I do chicken calculus LOL)

I tried to record some cute moments but this only allows me to post one video, so I picked this one because it shows what a patient mama Eggy is — even when the little ones are chomping on her comb and wattles lol. She has been feeding and keeping them warm all day. I find it super cute when the chicks eat food off her beak! 🥰
