Finally finished (mostly) our chicken run!

Our take

After a whirlwind of busy workdays and a temporary janky setup, we’re thrilled to announce that our chicken run is finally (mostly) finished! As first-time chicken owners, this journey has been a delightful learning experience, filled with laughter and a few surprises along the way. We set aside some dedicated days to bring our vision to life, and we’re feeling pretty proud of our feathered friends’ new digs. To top it all off, all six of our gals laid an egg on their first day in the new run—talk about an egg-citing success!

We had been using temporary janky run for our girls for the past couple months while we got through a busy time at work. Finally last week we were able to set some days aside and get it done.

We’re first time chicken owners so this has been a huge learning experience for us. We have a lot to learn still, but we’re feeling pretty proud of this next step and wanted to share with this community cus you guys have been an amazing resource for us.

All 6 of our gals put out an egg on their first day in the new run, so we’re considering that a success 🤣

Also to note before it’s addressed in the comments: I say mostly finished in the title because we still need to add a security skirt and border around the run as well as finish the trim on the backside.
