first time chicken owner! is my chicks vent okay?

Our take

Congratulations on welcoming your feathered friends into your home! As a first-time chicken owner, it's perfectly normal to feel a bit anxious about their well-being—especially when you notice something unusual, like a more pronounced vent on one of your chicks. While it’s great news that there’s no sign of pasty butt so far, keeping a watchful eye is key. Look for any signs of discomfort or distress, such as changes in behavior or appetite. Ensuring they have a clean environment, access to fresh water, and a balanced diet will help mitigate potential issues. Don’t hesitate to reach out to fellow chicken enthusiasts or resources for advice. Remember, you’re not alone in this clucky adventure! Enjoy the journey with your new chicks!

We just got our chicks yesterday. I've been keeping a close eye on this one because a lot of the other plymouth rocks in the brooder at the store had pasty butt. So far no pasty butt, but I unnoticed today her vent was more noticeable than yesterday. None of the other chicks look like this. At the moment it's not red, but i just want to make sure she's okay!! I'm learning I'm a very anxious chicken keeper - very new to this.

Anything I should watch for or do to prevent any issues?
