I never thought I'd get attached to a chicken...

Our take

I never thought I’d find myself attached to a chicken, but here we are! Meet Rayita, my mom’s little chick who was gifted to her when she was just a few days old. Instead of heading to the chicken coop an hour and a half away, Rayita decided she’d rather stick around the house, much to everyone’s surprise. When they attempted to introduce her to a hen with two chicks, she panicked and darted after my nephews instead! Now, they’re planning to build a cozy coop right here for her. Watching Rayita's quirky personality unfold has been one of the most delightful experiences of my life. Who knew a feathered friend could bring so much joy?

Rayita is my mom's chick. She was given her when she was just a few days old, and she's still living inside (they tried to take her to her chicken coops, an hour and a half away from here.
There was a hen with two chicks there, but since it was a incubator chick, it got scared of its own kind, saw the hen, and ran after my nephews 🫠🫠).
They're looking into building a small coop for her here. I never thought I'd get attached to a chicken; it's the most wonderful thing in life.
