NEED HELP FAST PLEASE
Our take
Oh no, it sounds like your little feathered friend is in a bit of a cluck-tastrophe! At just four weeks old and already a small fry, it’s concerning to hear that he’s suddenly struggling. Separation from the rest of the chicks can be tough on a little one, especially if he’s feeling under the weather. The fact that something seems off with his wing adds to the worry. Don’t fret; you’re not alone in this! Many chicken enthusiasts have faced similar situations and understand the urgency of helping a vulnerable chick. Let’s rally together to figure out what might be going on and how to give your little buddy the best chance to thrive.

- Struggling Baby ChickI'm posting out of serious concern for a recently hatched baby chicken. I'm really worried and sad that the chick may not make it, so I ask for kindness in responses please. My hens have been tending to the eggs. This is my first time having hens to do the brooding and incubation. So far 4 have successfully hatched. This baby chick took over a day to hatch (so officially born fully yesterday evening). I checked up on it this evening and I see that one of its wings and side appear to be damaged (looks like a wound). The damaged wing looks like it may just be a nub? Additionally, on that same side of the chick its leg looks limp (apologies I'm having a hard time describing and it's difficult to take a photo with 2 hens brooding). The baby chick's eyes look like they're now closed, it's still chirping. Any recommendations/ideas/well wishes/thoughts and prayers? Tomorrow morning when the avian vet opens I'm going to call to see if I can bring it in. submitted by /u/ChibiBarbie [link] [comments]

- Baby Chick has a broken leg. This baby chick hatched 3 days ago, he couldn’t walk and we noticed the other chicks were eating something from its leg and it started bleeding so we separated it from the others. We gave it water, calcium, vitamins and food, but it cant eat alone from the pain. For a day or two it keeps crying and we realised its leg is broken since we first thought it was a splayed leg, now I think its irreversible, I also cant kill it and vets dont do euthanasia in my country anymore. What can I do? How can I ease its pain or help it? submitted by /u/DevxHimself [link] [comments]
- Need help with new chick!I got 10 chicks today in the mail. They all seem great expect for this little guy. He was drinking and eating about an hour ago but seemed a little more clumsy than the others. I just came and checked on him and he was laying upside down in the shavings. Doesn’t seem to be doing too good. You think it’s a lost cause? Any ideas on how I can help? submitted by /u/Gravitys_Bitch [link] [comments]
