Proud of my best boy Tiki who fought off a fox this morning

Our take

This morning, my brave boy Tiki became the ultimate defender of our feathered friends! When a cunning fox swooped in and snatched one of the girls, Tiki sprang into action, slamming the fox and making it drop our hen. Thankfully, I was able to rush outside just in time to scare off the intruder. While our hen lost just a few feathers, she’s perfectly fine and grateful for Tiki's heroics. In true gentleman style, Tiki celebrated with a feast of mealworms, generously sharing most with the girls. However, the fox may return, as it has a den nearby, so I’ll be keeping everyone safe and sound until I can supervise their outdoor adventures. Let’s hope the little rascal thinks twice about returning!

Fox grabbed one of the girls, Tiki slammed him and made him drop the hen, and I made it outside in time to chase the fox off. He’s been staring off in the direction the fox left in for the last couple hours. Hen only lost a handful of feathers and is fine. Tiki got lots of mealworms, which he 99% shared with all the girls because he’s just that guy.

Unfortunately it may be back as it has a den about 1/2 mile away, but I’ll be keeping everyone locked up for a bit unless I’m outside with them. The fox bailed immediately when it saw me, so I’m hoping it was just out and about in the early morning hours and won’t be bold enough to try anything when people are around.
