Torn on Mexico itinerary
Hi all, I am torn on two different itineraries, one of which is less convenient but gives me an extra day in Mexico and would love your opinions on what you would do! I'm travelling from the UK and want to avoid transiting through the US so flight options are a bit more limited.
Option one:
- Fly into CDMX
- 4 full days in CDMX
- Fly to Merida
- 3 full days in Merida (with trips out to Celestun, Chichen Itza)
- Train/bus to Puerto Morelos
- 3 full days in Puerto Morelos
- Fly home from Cancun at 4pm
Option two:
- Fly into CDMX
- 4 full days in CDMX
- Fly to Merida
- 4 full days in Merida (with trips out to Celestun, Chichen Itza)
- Train/bus to Puerto Morelos
- 3 full days in Puerto Morelos
- Fly home from CDMX at 9pm, having got a flight there from Cancun earlier in the day.
My heart is saying have the extra day because I've always wanted to visit Mexico and don't know if/when I'll be back so may as well make the most of it.
My head is saying it would be silly to make my trip home so much longer and more inconvenient for the sake of one extra day.
What would you do?
