Aircraft changed from 787 to 737 MAX 8 on long flight (7–10h) refund/rebooking possible?

Hello, I booked this flight roughly half a year in advance, mainly because it was advertised as a direct 787 service. Quick summary of the details: route MXP (Milan Malpensa) → ALA (Almaty), return ALA → MXP, flying July 29/August 8, flight number NO763, total cost €1100 for two people in economy. Around three and a half months before departure I found out the plane had been switched to a 737 MAX 8 and to make things worse, a technical stop was added to the return journey, something that was never mentioned when I originally bought the tickets. I understand airlines don’t formally promise a specific aircraft, but to me this goes beyond a simple equipment change. The outbound leg is roughly 7 hours on a narrowbody, and the return ends up being close to 10 hours thanks to the extra stop. That’s a very different product from what I thought I was purchasing. A big part of why I picked this flight over a layover option was precisely the 787 had I wanted a connection, I could have found something like a 3h + 5h combination on two widebodies without much trouble (Turkish Airlines). So I’m wondering: does the addition of a technical stop qualify as a “significant schedule change” under the contract of carriage? Can an equipment downgrade of this kind on a 7–10h route justify a refund or free rebooking? And has anyone here actually had any luck pushing back against Neos in a situation like this? Any advice or personal experience would mean a lot​​​​​​​​​​
