I there anything I can do about inconsistent keyboard shortcuts?
I am getting really pissed off with the fact that scrolling left and right is Ctrl+Shift+Mousewheel in Excel, but only Shift+Mousewheel when using Excel in SharePoint. I am constantly zooming in and out accidentally when I'm using a spreadsheet in SP due to pressing the Ctrl key, or doing nothing in native Excel because I'm not pressing the extra button. It seems the Ctrl+Shift+Mousewheel shortcut doesn't exist in SP, so it reverts to the Ctrl+Mousewheel zoom function if you press both keys. Even if this combo did nothing it wouldn't be too bad, but I'm constantly zooming when I want to scroll.
I tried a quick google and the suggestions on changing the settings described adjusting options that I don't appear to have in my menus (unless I'm looking in the wrong place). If anyone has any guidance or alternatives that will work I'd appreciate it. Changing either setting to match the other would be good. I just need it to be consistent across both versions for the muscle memory.
I would also like to thank Microsoft's designers and engineers for giving the same program two different control schemes. Genius move.
