Are fast-fashion brands like Shein or Boohoo that different from high-street brands like Zara or Abercrombie?

Both in terms of quality and the working conditions for the people making them. Or is it just good branding for the Abercrombies and Zaras of the world, and you'd need to spend significantly more for clothes that are more better/more ethically made?
