I like to do double city trips. What city should I pair with Paris in September?

I was thinking Paris and Barcelona. But it would be really nice to go from Paris to South of France too as I won’t be getting much beach time this summer.

Or Paris and Amsterdam. Or… any other suggestions? I really am interested in South of Spain too. I’ve only been to Lisbon and Madrid, btw.
