Gasping Chirp: When Your Cross Beak Hen Needs a Wing and a Prayer
There's nothing quite like the panic of holding a gasping hen and realizing you're the only vet within fifty miles. TBoyKal's cross beak girl is doing that scary little honk-gasp combo, and honestly, my heart goes out to both of them. The steam bathroom trick is a solid move, and the herbal dewormer shows real quick thinking, but sometimes our feathered friends need more than guesswork. Cross beak hens already face enough challenges without respiratory trouble piling on. I've seen similar scares play out over years, like that rooster who gasped for four years and somehow kept strutting around. Keep her warm, keep the steam going, and watch her crop. Sometimes the cluck-tastic miracle is just patience.
Two Surprise Sons Hatch a Plot My Husband Never Saw Coming
Well, talk about a plot twist that would ruffle anyone's feathers. These two gorgeous boys were never supposed to hatch, but a well-meaning husband and a broody silkie had other plans while our friend was away for ten days. Now, these stunning Tolbunt Polish mixes have turned into absolute terrors, relentlessly chasing the very hen who raised them. It's a classic case of fowl play, and honestly, my heart aches for that poor traumatized silkie. Her usual man, the black silkie who also happens to be their dad, just stands by like a proud papa while these two cause chaos. It's a messy family drama, and while they are undeniably pretty, something has to give.
