Ethel's limping and molting: could bumble foot be the culprit
Poor Ethel. She's been on my mind since I read about her refusing to put weight on her foot for two days, and with everyone molting, it's easy to shrug it off as just part of the seasonal grump-fest. But a persistent limp, with no visible cuts or changes to her run, screams something deeper. Bumble foot is the prime suspect here, it can start as a tiny, sneaky infection deep in the pad, not always obvious on the surface. Before you panic, check for swelling between her toes or a hard, scab-like spot on the bottom. If it's warm to the touch, that's another clue.
