A mysterious tapping at the doggie door has me chickening out

There's a mysterious tapping at the doggie door, and I'm officially chickening out. Something is out there, scratching and bumping in the dark, and my imagination is running faster than a hen dodging the dinner pot. Is it a raccoon? A possum? Or could it be fowl play among the flock? My feathered friends have been acting egg-stra strange lately, Honey's gone quiet, and the older hens have been giving the new chicks the side-eye. If you've ever felt a chill creep up your spine while walking to the coop at dusk, you know the feeling.
