When my fiancée decided Princess JJ deserved a teddy bear dress upgrade, I nearly lost it. There she was, our regal hen, strutting around in a tiny princess gown straight off a stuffed animal. It was egg-citing and ridiculous all at once. JJ wore that little dress like she was born for it, which honestly tracks if you know her. She's always been a bit of a diva. This is the kind of fowl play I can get behind. This mystery chicken thinks people are just giant feathered friends
Some chickens are skittish, some are broody, and some are just... confused. JJ, a mostly Bielefelder, Jersey Giant, and Favril mix, apparently thinks every human is just a giant feathered friend. We've hatched a lot of birds, but this level of unabashed, tail-wagging friendliness is a first. It's both heartwarming and a little unsettling, like being adored by a fluffy dinosaur. We love a mystery, especially one that comes with free affection. It reminds us of our own sling setup for a chick who needed a little TLC, sometimes these feathered friends keep us on our toes. For now, we're just enjoying JJ's cluck-tastic delusion.
