Feathered Friends, Fowl Play, or Just a Hen in Disguise?

Meatball's got a neck full of fancy feathers, and suddenly "just a hen" feels like a fowl assumption. I've been there, staring at a bird, convinced I know what's what, only to have those pointed hackle feathers scream otherwise. Leghorns and Ameraucanas are tricky like that; one's a flighty classic, the other's a bearded mystery, and neither makes gender guessing easy. Honestly, I respect the hesitation. Seasoned chicken folks know the drill: comb size, tail carriage, and those telltale saddle feathers do the talking. Until then, Meatball's rocking an identity crisis that's egg-citingly relatable. If you're deep in breed-sleuthing mode, our piece on "Our Mystery Chicks Are All Grown Up" might crack a few answers open for you too.
