mid blink

Mabel's zombie blink is the fowl play we never saw coming

Mabel's zombie blink is the fowl play we never saw coming, and honestly, it's cluck-tastic. I was just snapping pictures of my chickens when somehow I caught her mid-blink, and she fully embraced the undead look. That's one feathered friend who knows how to commit to a bit. It reminds me of a similar moment of unexpected chicken celebrity, like when a chickenless fan declared we're all adorable and turned that love into a tapestry. Mabel's not cuddly, though. She's a little haunting, a little hilarious, and exactly the kind of quirky chaos that makes chicken keeping so egg-citing. Who needs a serious farm when you've got a zombie hen?
