Clemmy the Clementine Has Crossed the Rainbow Coop: We'll Miss That Break-In Energy

We found Clemmy the Clementine passed this morning after a long fight, and we're absolutely heartbroken. That little bird had the most determined break-in energy we've ever seen, always plotting ways to get inside the house. It's a special kind of loss when a chicken with that much personality crosses the Rainbow Coop. We'll miss that fowl play dearly. If you're dealing with a sick or struggling bird, our guide on prolapsed vent advice, "When Your Egg-Cellent Layer Has a Fowl Day", might offer some comfort and practical help. For now, we're just clucking with sadness right alongside you, animehoe0369.

Billy Bob the rooster proved chickens can save your life too

We never expected a rooster to be our guardian, but Billy Bob proved chickens can save your life too. Just under a year ago, we had to put him to sleep, and we miss him every single day. The bond between a rooster and his humans is something special, we were full-fledged members of HIS flock, and without him, a bird of prey would probably have snatched us up long ago. That's not fowl play; that's genuine loyalty. It makes you rethink who's really watching out for who. For another tale of unexpected chicken connections, check out "When a sweet rooster claims your lap for his dustbath, you just let him." Rest in peace, Billy Bob. You were one cluck-tastic protector.

Feathers and fond memories: Remembering the goofball hen we lost to a snake

I was just scrolling through YouTube when I stumbled across a few feathers scattered around my room, feathers that belonged to my sweet, goofball hen. She was the kind of chicken who, even at five months old, couldn't stop chirping, would fall asleep every few steps, and was, bless her heart, a bit dim-witted. A total goofball. But I loved her like crazy. I'd protect her from the other chickens and the dogs, bring her inside to play, feed her separately. She left this world while I was on vacation, a snake got her. It still stings. Now those feathers sit in a little jar on my shelf. Rest in peace, you sweet little fool.
