rough scaly skin

This chick's skin is more razzle-dazzle than Frazzle, but we're clucking concerned

Razzle-dazzle indeed, this little chick hatched with skin that looks like it went through a blender, and honestly, we're clucking concerned too. Healthy appetite, perky attitude, but that rough, scaly exterior is a head-scratcher. A Frazzle? Unlikely, but not impossible. Usually, those featherless wonders are born smooth, not textured like a lizard's cousin. Could be a weird hatch-day quirk, or maybe something environmental. Either way, keep an eye on it. If it's eating and acting normal, don't panic yet. But if that skin starts cracking or oozing, you'll want a vet's eyes on it pronto.
