Feathered Friend Down to the Bone: How to Help a Pecked Hen

There's a special kind of heartbreak in watching one of your feathered friends get pecked down to the bone, and the guilt that follows is just as brutal. You've done the right thing by separating her, but now you're stuck in that awful limbo between nursing her back and knowing your schedule just can't handle it. That's not chickening out, that's being honest about your limits. If you truly don't have the time or resources for proper wound care, culling is a humane choice, not a failure. A quick, decisive end beats a slow, stressful recovery you can't commit to.
