A midnight fox raid, a narrow escape, and four very shaken chickens

A midnight fox raid, a narrow escape, and four very shaken chickens, that's the kind of fowl play nobody wants to wake up to. I feel for this person, running out in the dark to find a fox had already broken into the coop and chewed through the roof. The relief of finding all four birds alive must have been egg-citingly overwhelming. Now they're bunking in the house until the new coop arrives, but one poor hen is clearly shell-shocked: missing her tail, a possible foot injury, and she won't go near the old coop. Honestly, that's fair. If you've ever dealt with a skittish chicken post-trauma, you know the struggle.
