So you've got a tiny garden, a serious case of chicken-keeping nostalgia, and a very pretty flower bed you'd rather not have turned into a dust bath. I get it. After twenty years of full-size hybrids, downsizing to bantams feels like the obvious cluck-tastic solution, especially if you're eyeing that Eglu Go and a two-meter run. But are they really just smaller versions of the birds you know? Mostly yes, but the details matter. Wyandotte bantams are stunning, and I love that you're avoiding feathery feet (manky is the right word). They do eat less and lay smaller eggs, but they're also more vulnerable to predators and can be flightier.
