Need help! Posting for my mom who doesn’t have Reddit

Our take

Hey fellow chicken enthusiasts! I’m reaching out for some cluck-tastic advice on behalf of my mom, who’s in a bit of a pickle with her beloved 8-year-old Barred Rock named Poppy. Earlier today, we found Poppy still perched on the roosting bar. When my daughter checked on her, Poppy flew down but wobbled and then settled into a loaf position. Her legs and feet appear fine, but we noticed she has pasty butt and is missing some feathers above her vent. While she's still laying eggs and eating well, her poop has a rather stinky smell. We’re deeply concerned and want to help our feathered friend. Any tips on what could be going on and how to treat her would be greatly appreciated!

8 year old Barred Rock. We found her still perched on the roosting bar this afternoon. My daughter went to check on her and she flew down then wobbled then loafed like this. I checked her legs and her feet they look fine. But I did discover she has pasty butt and is missing some feathers on her back side above her vent. She's still laying eggs, dining and eating. Isolated and does have a stinky smelling poop. What could this be and how do I treat it? I don't want to lose her she was my first chicken I got with my original flock. Her name is Poppy.
