Our take
Meet our newest feathered friend—a resilient rooster rescued from the derby scene! Just yesterday, I brought him home, and despite his battle scars, he's already on the mend. With a little TLC, including medication for his infection and vitamins in his water, he's bouncing back with brighter, more normal droppings. Check out the second photo to see where he came from and get a glimpse of his journey to recovery. Let’s give him a warm welcome to our flock! 🐓✨
| | Yesterday I bought this rooster from someone who had fought him in a derby on Saturday. His wounds are already stitched up. I gave him medication for an infection because he was producing yellowish droppings yesterday morning, and today they're a more normal color. I added vitamins to his water to help him recover faster. - UPDATE: Turn of events for the rooster I found!!After finding the rooster this morning after 2 hours of hide and seek(he was in a tree next to our house but thankfully we found him exactly how he was in the 2nd photo) we checked the infection of his butt and it was starting to turn necrotic, we were cleaning it and putting antibiotics in his water. He was in obvious pain from the infection and with the problems from his eyes I was consider putting him down and I called the vet near me although many don’t take chickens. THE VET WE CALLED HAD BEEN WANTING A ROOSTER!!! We got to drive old timer to the vet and I surrendered the boy and gave an extra $100, they said they’d lmk if it turns out for the worse for him :) but I’m so happy he might find a good home! - Update on Rooster with Layer Feed-induced Arterial GoutIt’s been almost 3 weeks. He is recovering! He spent four days in the house getting extra TLC. The flock food has been changed to flock maintainer, and we stopped feeding black soldier fly larvae. His limp is nearly gone and he is back to normal energy levels!
