Is this Curly Toe Paralysis?
Our take
Meet our feathered friend who's strutting into the spotlight with a funky foot! Hatched early Tuesday morning, this little chick is experiencing some peculiar symptoms that might point to Curly Toe Paralysis. It’s now Thursday afternoon, and after providing her with electrolytes, probiotics, and some Chicken Cell, she seems to be gaining strength—she even managed to eat and drink! And hey, she just left a little “gift” on me, which I’m taking as a positive sign! I’m reaching out to the community for confirmation on my suspicions and to hear about your experiences with similar scenarios. Let’s cluck about it and see if we can help this chick on her journey to recovery!

| Hatched early Tuesday morning (it’s now 3pm Thursday). This chick has a funky foot. I’m giving her electrolytes, probiotics, and Chicken Cell. I’ve gotten her to eat and drink and she just shat on me, so I will take that as a good sign. I guess I am looking for confirmation, your experience with this, etc. [link] [comments] |

- Is my chick’s toe broken?Baby chicks arrived on Tuesday (4 days ago) from Meyer hatchery. This is the first I have noticed her toe curled. She doesn’t appear to be limping (yet?) We have been handling every day twice a day to clean butts. I don’t remember this much poopy butt last year! - Update: Chicken still sick, can’t walk or stand. She can perchMy poor Pickles went to the vet, laid an egg, (I thought she was egg bound), she’s been getting around the clock care in quarantine, but she still can’t walk, she can perch on a dowel, but that’s it. She is eating at least one scrambled egg a day, not really drinking but if I string water over her beak she drinks. Her poops looked normal this morning, yesterday they were mixed, some normal, some watery. It’s been 6 days of this. WTH?? This is her little set up. - What is wrong with my chicken?Any ideas? Hard to get a video. She’s standing so weird. She was limping a couple days ago but I didn’t think much about it. No bubble foot or mites. She’s happy and lets me hold her and manipulate her legs/wings with no issues… she’s eating and drinking and has consistently been laying-even today.
